Brand Licensing 2013 University of Oxford Licensing Programme Preview

Once again, the University of Oxford brand licensing programme will be represented at BLE 2013 by its UK and European agent, Performance Brands on stand P35.

Since BLE 2012, Oxford has signed licensees across a number of different categories. In December, USB International signed a five year contract to produce a range of executive and family travels bags aimed at the UK and international markets, and showed prototypes at Spring Fair in February. Their interest in Oxford was originally sparked during a visit to the Performance Brand’s stand at BLE 2012 as was that of the IGS Corporation who signed with Oxford for its Rule Bikes brand in April this year. The resulting ‘Oxford Edition’ bike range will be launched at the Cycle Show at the NEC in September and Asia Bike in October.
The toy and game category has also attracted two new Oxford licensees over the last six months. In April, Oxford announced their partnership with Indian company Swadesh Essfil Pvt. Ltd, who will launch the first range of University of Oxford branded memory games at retail in late autumn. The second deal was signed in July with Portuguese based science kit specialist, Science4you, with an initial range of seven products already being promoted to UK retailers.

Looking forward to 2014, the apparel category continues to generate much interest and discussion with well-known retail brands both in the UK and India. Meanwhile, the Oxford furniture range by Timothy Oulton continues to fly the flag for Oxford around the world, with new store and product launches soon to be announced.
